01 - Rinse cranberries under cold water and discard any soft or damaged berries.
02 - In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon if using, and salt.
03 - Heat mixture over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until it reaches a boil.
04 - Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
05 - Taste and add more sugar if desired. Remove from heat and allow sauce to cool; it will thicken further as it cools.
06 - Transfer to a serving bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.
